Hi Meghan et all,

We can have more socials afterward. Last week we had new candidate David Adams join us for the Q&A from OPP officer. And this week we have two new candidates for council.

Mike Seiler has RSVP'd he will attend this week. And I think it would be interesting to hear what he brings to the election.

If you have ideas for people who could help us connect with the people of Owen sound or the needs of the city more would be happy to host them. For example we had representative from the homeless in July that gave us many ideas for dealing with homelessness and drug addiction in the downtown.

We are planning to have someone from Owen Sound police department over in September also.

But yeah these are informal optional meetings for those interested. Gotta remember that if we want to achieve what we promise, we need 4 other people on council to agree with us to pass a motion. So it is worthwhile to talk to other candidates and figure out what we can agree upon, so we can promise during our campaign what we can realistically accomplish during our term.

Thanks,
Andrii

Do you think this should wait until the 22nd when everyone has a chance to put their names in.

Hi everyone,

I thought it might be nice to have an informal Owen Sound all-candidates social this Thursday, August 13, from 5:30–6:30 pm at 254 8th Street East.

The idea is simply to give candidates for Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Council a chance to meet one another, make brief introductions, and have some informal conversation. No debate or formal agenda, just an opportunity to get to know the other people running and hopefully contribute to a friendly and constructive election.

There is no need to stay beyond 6:30, and anyone who can only drop in for part of the hour is welcome as well.

Thursday, August 13
5:30–6:30 pm
254 8th Street East, Owen Sound

Hope to see some of you there.
