I’m inviting certified candidates in Owen Sound’s 2026 municipal election to complete the HelpOS Mayor and Council Candidate Questionnaire:

The questionnaire contains 18 core questions covering City finances and accountability, public participation, infrastructure and transportation, housing, community safety, homelessness, and local resilience. It takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.

For each issue, candidates can select:

• Broadly support
• Support with qualifications
• Broadly oppose
• Undecided

Each question also includes space for an explanation or qualification, giving you an opportunity to describe your own approach, priorities, conditions, or preferred implementation.

Please use the official candidate email address listed with your certified candidacy. After submission, HelpOS will email you a complete courtesy copy. Your response is then scheduled for publication after a 24-hour review period, giving you time to request a correction or raise any concern about the submission.

Published responses become attributable evidence used in the Mayor and Council Candidate Comparison:

Questionnaire responses can help clarify your positions, fill gaps in the available evidence, and increase the amount of documented information available to residents. Relevant responses may also be linked from individual comparison issues so residents can read your position in your own words.
